Fairfax Station, VA: In June 2018 “It’s GREAT to be” children’s book series launched with It’s GREAT to be YOU! Today, the series has expanded to include the book, It’s GREAT to be LOVED!

This book features children of many backgrounds, interests, and abilities because the authors believe it’s

important that a child sees themselves when they read a book. This book is a reminder that many people can

love us. We don’t have to be perfect. We can lose our shoes, ask lots of questions, or just be really sad and

we can still be loved. The most important thing to know is that it’s GREAT to be LOVED!

Readers of the book praise the authors for showcasing multiple examples of diversity through children’s

names, family make-ups, and depictions of cultures and religions. The illustrations are a key part of the book

because it allows children to see themselves being represented, which they may have never experienced

before. This book can have a positive, life-changing impact on young readers.

This book is appropriate for children (and adults) of all ages and is available online and in retail stores.

The authors of the series, Courtney Gonzalez and Diana Karczmarczyk, are already dreaming up the next book in the series. To learn more about the authors, visit www.weskeandcompany.org
